From London, follow the M11 and the A11 to NORWICH.
A few miles outside Norwich youll come to a roundabout at THICKTHORN
SERVICES, where the A11 crosses the ring road. There are two ways to Sea Palling
from here, one through Norwich and the other via Acle.
Route One
Follow the A11 into Norwich, crossing straight over the outer ring road
a couple of miles further in and heading for the city centre, until you come
to the inner ring road.
Follow signs for WROXHAM, turning left at the roundabout at the top of the
main shopping area so you have the old city walls on your right hand side.
Keep following the signs for Wroxham and the A1151 until you leave the city
and are on the Wroxham road. Stay on this road through Wroxham and Hoveton
and continue until you get to STALHAM.
Take the second turning left, signposted SEA PALLING, past Tesco and over
the road humps.
Keep following the Sea Palling signs and the B1159 through Ingham, being
careful of the sharp left turn at the Swan pub and the hard right turn immediately
after it.
At the next T junction turn right to Sea Palling and continue to the village.
Follow the sign for the beach, first left just after the Old Hall pub, and
continue along Beach Road.
Take the left hand turn immediately before the jetski and café parade,
just past the bus stop on your left and the Chapel tea rooms on your right.
Any further and youll end up on the ramp to the beach! This is Clink
Lane and there is a huge car park on the right hand side. Dont panic,
it seldom fills up even in high summer. Ahead of you is a terrace of four
cottages, just past the car park and where the road turns hard right. Marlow
Cottage is the one on the right, with the garage.
Route Two
Turn right at the Thickthorn roundabout following signs for GREAT YARMOUTH.
Keep on this mostly dual track road, the A47, until you get to ACLE.
At the roundabout at Acle take the A1064, signposted Caister; this is effectively
the second left turning.
Follow this road over the River Bure and then turn left onto the B1152 to
Potter Heigham, Martham and Stalham.
When you reach the junction with the main A149, turn left for Potter Heigham
and Stalham. Keep on this road until STALHAM when youll see the sign
for SEA PALLING.
Turn right past Tesco. Keep following the Sea Palling signs and the B1159
through Ingham, being careful of the sharp left turn at the Swan pub and the
hard right turn immediately after it.

There are other routes to Sea Palling, especially one along the coast road
via Martham, West Somerton and Horsey, the B1152/B1159, but the two detailed
above are the easiest if you dont know the area and take you through Stalham,
the nearest town for shopping, and past the Causeway butchers, which has been
recommended but which Ive not tried as yet, and the farm shop just outside
Sea Palling which is usually excellent but closed on Saturdays [open Sundays].
Youll also see the Post Office in Beach Road, which sells most things
including wine, and the sign for the fisherman in the road just opposite.
Have a good journey and enjoy your stay at Marlow Cottage.
